This past weekend, Miami-based One Voice Records Christian Latin-pop music sensation Freddie Colloca was the special guest at the First Annual Spirit FM Bahamas Fishing Bonanza. The Fishing Bonanza was hosted by 89.7 Spirit FM, the premier Christian A/C station in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. The 100,000-watt station serves an area that stretches from Palm Beach to the Florida Keys.

Colloca, a Miami resident, cast his line for the biggest fish along with about 70 other loyal Spirit FM listeners. The group set out from the Miami area and crossed the Atlantic, headed for the beautiful island of Bimini. The flotilla included boats ranging from 20 feet up to the lead boat, a 53-foot Hatteras yacht. In addition to being the special guest, Freddie, who caught a 20-lb Mahi Mahi, competed with the other Spirit FM listeners for prizes and awards. Tournament sponsors included Ocean Bank, The Bahamas Office of Tourism, Bimini Big Game Resort and Marina, and Chalks Ocean Airways.

During the awards ceremony and dinner on Saturday night Colloca led the fishermen in worship, and treated them to a whale of a show, which included his Top 10 radio hit, "Savior My Savior."

"We were very excited to have Freddie as our special guest for this event," commented David Corell, Director of Corporate Development for Spirit FM. "He's a hometown talent who¹s been skyrocketing on the music charts, and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy."
