SCORE

David Crowder Band, Sparrow Records' biggest selling debut artist ever, recently completed an aggressive eight-day radio promotional tour connecting with 11 stations in the Midwest and South.

While touring in support of the critically acclaimed Sixstepsrecords debut Can You Hear Us?, which sold over 6,200 copies in its first week at retail, Crowder completed in-studio interviews, live acoustic performances and even took in a Chicago Cubs game with WQFL (Rockford, IL) staff and listeners.

"David was a riot to have in the studio," says Mike Schlote, WQFL Program Director and host of Mike at the Mic in the Morning. "His desire for reaching people was apparent on the bus ride to Chicago with our listeners. He spent time one-on-one with most of the people on the bus and showed genuine interest in the lives of others. I think it is his love for people that helps motivate him to draw them together to worship God through his music. He's just a great guy all the way around."

In addition to visiting WONU and WQFL studios, David Crowder spent time with radio staff from WAYM (Nashville), WJIE (Louisville), WCVO (Columbus, OH), WFHM (Cleveland), WFHZ (Milwaukee), WRCM (Charlotte), WMHK (Columbia, SC), and WVFJ (Atlanta).

The David Crowder Band began by leading worship at University Baptist in Waco, TX, the 1000-member church Crowder helped found for college students at Baylor University. Dually intellectual and hearfelt, the band's dynamic music combines such influences as Dave Matthews with the poetic lyrical depth of the artists like Rich Mullins. In addition to "My Hope," Can You Hear Us? includes a refreshing majority of original songs and stunning reinterpretations of hits written by Martin Smith of Delirious ("Obsession"), Sinead O'Connor ("Thank You") and Matt Redman ("Undignified").

Currently preparing for a retail promotional tour, the David Crowder Band performs at AtlantaFest and Passion on the Hill Passion Conferences in Atlanta this month and embarks in August on the Worship Together CityWide Tour. The CityWide Tour was inspired by the highly respected worship resource web site and modern worship label of the same name marketed and distributed by Sparrow Records. Additional information on the band, including tour dates and song samples, can be found at davidcrowderband.com, sixstepsrecords.com, and sparrowrecords.com.

According to Sparrow Records national promotions director Brian Dishon, who took this photo, "The bus rolled with laughter for 20-minutes straight after David took the microphone following one of the WQFL listeners asking to know more about David Crowder."
