Ami Rushes Receives Award

 Praise & Worship artist, Ami Rushes will receive the Albertina Walker Award of Achievement and Excellence, it was announced today.

On Friday, October 10, 2008, the events begin when the Chicago GAG and Albertina Walker will present Ami Rushes with the award during their 13th Year Gala Anniversary Gospel Showcase at Cosmopolitan Community Church, 5249 S. Wabash, Chicago, where Henry O. Hardy is Host Pastor.

The weekend promises to be powerful, impacting and inspirational, and filled with key industry people and artists alike.

According to Dennis Cole, President of Chicago Announcer's Guild, they will continue to educate and inform the Chicago industry of radio changes and new technology that evolves, and continue to host signed, unsigned and significant artists through monthly meetings where they disseminate up-to-date information in retail, print, and other components relevant to gospel music.

Their quest is to equip and enhance the ministries of those entry level and professional individuals desiring to work and perform in the industry.

"My personal objective as President is to have the Chicago gospel industry equipped with the best knowledge and 'know how' to represent the Gospel Capital of the World," said Cole.

When asked her feelings about this prestigious award, Ami replied, "When I was first told about this I was truly speechless that this was happening to me. I feel so very humbled and blessed that such a prestigious organization as the Chicago Gospel Announcers Guild would think of me for such a beautiful and awesome award. I have never received an award for anything in my life and I just cant say thank you enough for considering me. Dennis Cole I love you and pray Gods blessings and favor on your life."
