Chevelle to be one Loeffler brother short for summer tour

According to MTV News, Chevelle's bassist, Joe Loeffler, will not be taking the stage during the band's upcoming summer tour with Taproot and actor Jared Leto's band 30 Seconds to Mars, according to the Chevelle's web site.

"After three years of nonstop touring and recording, Joe is taking a break to be home with family," the band announced in an official statement. "We'll miss having him on the road with us, but as his brothers and bandmates, we respect his decision and are looking forward to getting out there and playing for the fans." Former Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo will fill in for Loeffler.

Chevelle, still riding high on the success of their single "The Clincher," have spent the majority of 2005 on the road in support of their latest disc, This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In), released in September. The band closed out each night of the SnoCore Tour earlier this year, which was followed by a headlining tour.
